No One Does It Better!
The majority of the inspections for GLS-operated programs are completed by the company’s trained and certified staff of Inspectors. In some of the thirty-two counties in which we operate, we supplement their work through contracts with community action agencies (CAAs), local non-profit social service organizations. Staff of the CAAs with which we contract are required to complete the same rigorous training and certification programs as our own Inspectors. In addition to staff Inspectors, some of the CAAs also have trained in-house staff who perform heating and weatherization work on the homes they inspect.
Rather than have in-house staff to perform heating system work and install weatherization measures, GLS contracts with local businesses to perform those functions. All of the work done by these contractors is inspected to make certain it meets the work standards of the program before the contractor is paid. Some of our partner CAAs also use local contractors in the same manner.

Homes receiving GLS weatherization services have reduced natural gas usage an average of 30 percent. In addition, health and safety measures provided by GLS have made thousands of Ohio homes safer and more comfortable.
